Getting bikes and riders back on the road

It’s a good thing the Ozaukee Mountain Bike Club had plenty of members and volunteers on hand for its bike drive on April 25 at Veterans Memorial Park in Grafton since its tally board showed that 168 bikes were collected, about 100 more than during last year’s inaugural drive. Through the club’s partnership with Dreambikes and Wheel & Sprocket, the bikes will be refurbished and distributed to new owners. “We know there are countless bikes sitting unused in basements and garages,” Mark Clegg, the club’s president, said. “Our goal is simple: to get those bikes back on roads or trails and into the hands of someone who will ride them.”      Photo by Sam Arendt
