Garden foliage, focal points is meeting topic
“Foliage and Focal Points: Ideas for Gardeners and Budgets of All Sizes” is the topic for a 7 p.m. Thursday, March 23, online program by the Ozaukee Master Gardeners.
Karen Chapman, who owns and operates Le jardinet, a custom landscape design company specializing in creating artistic plant combinations with a four-season foliage framework, functional outdoor living spaces and deer-resistant designs, will be the guest speaker.
Born in England, Chapman moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1996 and joined one of the leading nurseries as a garden plant specialist. Ten years later, she established Le jardinet.
Chapman teaches both container and landscape design in workshops and seminars across the country, and her garden designs have been featured in many national gardening publications.
She has also co-authored two books: the award-winning “Fine Foliage and Gardening with Foliage First” and “Deer Resistant Design: Gardens that Thrive Despite the Deer.”
