Grafton Area Live Arts, Inc. will begin its annual summer concert series Thursday, July 12, in Veterans Memorial Park along the Milwaukee River.

The outdoor music series will take place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. every Thursday through Aug. 23.

According to GALA President David Liss, all but one of the bands on this year’s set list will make their GALA debut, and none have performed in the park during the 17-year span of the concert series.

The concert listings include:

July 12 — Altered Five Blues Band, a quintet formed in 2002 that will perform international blues songs.

July 19 — Vinyl Road, which has performed during the indoor series, will play classic rock tunes.

July 26 — Up All Night will present party music spanning seven decades.

Aug. 2 — Southbound will cover popular songs from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Allman Brothers Band.

Aug. 9 — Stetsin & Lace will play country classics and new country hits.

Aug. 16 — Kid Ego will perform modern hits from the 1980s through 2000s, including the music of Van Morrison, Rick Springfield and Matchbox Twenty.

Aug. 23 — Totally Neon will play popular MTV singles from the 1980s.

Attendees do not need to bring food or beverages to the concerts because the Grafton Lions Club will sell popcorn, soda, water and beer along with food from John’s Pizzaria of Grafton.

Liss said the GALA is seeking sponsorships from local businesses and residents to support the concert series. Sponsorship opportunities range from $50 to $2,500.

Liss asks for patrons not to bring their dogs to the park due to village ordinances.
