Gail Cash

It is with great sadness the family of Gail Cash announce her passing. Gail, 77, of Saukville died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, in the warm glow of their family Christmas tree. She passed peacefully with her devoted family at her side.

Gail was born in Milwaukee, the beloved daughter of Walter and Norma (Basel) Achterberg on Jan. 21, 1948.

Gail was a proud graduate of Nicolet High School, Class of 1965.  

She worked at Exacto Springs Corp. and retired after 23 years of dedicated service.   

Gail enjoyed playing cribbage and sheepshead. She rarely missed an opportunity to go thrifting or check out a tempting rummage sale. Gail delighted in dining at local supper clubs, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with her family.  She was a longtime member of the Saukville Moose Lodge 1043.

She is survived by her cherished children Brian (Rita) Cash of Saukville and Dawn (Brian) Wilson of Union City, Tenn., her dear life partner of 34 years, Dennis Borenz, and adored grandchildren James (Hailey) Cash, Shelby Cash and Chloe Cash. She is further survived by special friends Elroy and Linda Giese, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son Donald Cash.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, WI 53074. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 4 to 6 p.m.  

Gail will be laid to rest at Union Cemetery in Saukville.

Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
