Full slate of events planned for Memorial Day

Saukville’s Landt-Thiel American Legion will observe Memorial Day on Monday, May 27, with a service, parade, speech and lunch.

The event will begin at Union Cemetery at 8 a.m. with a 21-gun salute and memorial service before a walk to Rebel Park. It will include an honor guard and a float celebrating this year’s citizenship and scholarship award winners.

The parade will end at Veterans Park where there will be a speech and a celebration of the Badger Boys and Girls groups and Americanism essay winners beginning at 9 a.m. A special guest is Rebecca Hoffmann, a Ozaukee High School graduate who is going into the U.S. Airforce Academy.

Lunch will then be served at the American Legion Post.
