Friends group murder mystery fundraiser on list of library events
The Oscar Grady Library in Saukville will host a Maker Faire from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16.
The event will feature arts, crafts and baked goods that have been made by local children and teens.
All items will be priced at $5 or less, and only cash will be accepted.
The Friends of the Oscar Grady Library are also preparing for a 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, murder-mystery fundraiser, “Murder is Par for the Course.”
The murder-mystery will be led by professional sleuth, Jack Pachuta. The suspects have been identified and are eager to share their side of the story. Each person attending will listen to what the suspects have to say and follow up with questions of their own as they try to decipher whodunit.
Those attending are urged to wear a golf-themed costume, and prizes will be awarded for the best costume and the person who solves the crime best.
The $40 price includes hors d’oeuvres and beverages.

Adult events
An art discovery camp led by local artist George Kotalik will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4.
People of all skill levels are welcome to learn the basics of art, grow their creativity and enjoy a supportive space to explore art.
“All Good People Here” by Ashley Flowers is the featured book for the Morning Fiction Book Club at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7.
Copies of the book are available for checkout at the library circulation desk.
An abstract scrap painting using acrylic paint on paper is the focus for the 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, summer craft hour.
Those attending don’t need any prior experience, and all supplies are provided. Advance registration is required.
The Fiber Arts Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14.
Those attending are asked to bring their own project to work on in a group environment. There is no instructor but those attending are happy to share ideas, tips and inspiration.
“The Demon of Unrest: A Saga of Hubris, Heartbreak, and Heroism at the Dawn of the Civil War” by Erik Larson is the featured book for the Evening Nonfiction Book Club at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19.

Teen events

The Teen Advisory Board will meet at 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18. New members are welcome. Those interested should visit the teen section of the library’s website to sign up.

Summer outdoor storytimes will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Aug. 5 and 12.
Stories, rhymes, songs and dancing will be part of the events on the library lawn, followed by art with sidewalk chalk.
Those attending are asked to bring a blanket or something comfortable to sit on.
Storytime will be moved indoors in case of inclement weather.
The Summer Lego Club for children in kindergarten through fifth grade will be held at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6.
Youngsters can socialize, try Lego challenges and be creative during the event.
