Free story and book program starts on June 12

Books on Bikes offers 4-year-old kindergarten through fourth-grade students in the Cedar Grove-Belgium School District the chance to hear a story and get a free book.

Programs are from 1 to 1:30 p.m. in Community Park in Belgium and from 2:30 to 3 p.m. in Memorial Park in Cedar Grove on Wednesdays, June 12, 19 and 26, July 10 and 31 and Aug. 7. Students may also enter a raffle to get a free bike.

Cedar Grove-Belgium Elementary School reading specialist Mary Claerbaut said she started the program based on similar programs at other school districts.

Those wishing to donate new books to the program may drop them off at the District Office, 321 N. Second St., from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
