Fredonia to observe holiday with program in park
Fredonia’s Memorial Day observance will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, May 25, at Veterans Park next to St. John Lutheran Church on Fredonia Avenue.
After the presentation of the colors, Post Commander and Vietnam War veteran Rick Nelson will address the crowd. A presentation will be given on the World War II prisoner of war camps in Wisconsin and Ozaukee County. The traditional tribute to the armed forces will be held, as will the placing of the memorial wreath followed by a rifle salute and Taps.
The Northern Ozaukee School District band and the Legion Color Guard will participate. Seating will be provided.
