Fredonia Lions honor those who help support the community

The Fredonia Lions Club honored some of the people who help it support the community with Community Service Awards during a May 27 dinner at Five Pillars Supper Club in Random Lake. Receiving awards from Lions Club President Rick Shepherd (right) were (from left) Joe and Sue Long of Paielli’s Bakery in Kenosha, which donates baked goods for the club’s chicken fry fundraisers, and Ryan Hornickel, a Northern Ozaukee School District art teacher who has supported the Lions Peace Poster Contest, which encourages students to express in art what peace means to them. Also receiving an award but not at the dinner was Eric Kocher, owner of the Dawg House bar in Waubeka, which has supported Lions’ projects for years.       Photo by Sam Arendt
