Fredonia Ave. parking worries trustee
No parking signs at 508 Fredonia Ave. are being ignored, and Village Trustee Jill Bertram said that has created a dangerous situation for drivers turning onto Fredonia Avenue from Fillmore Street.
“Drivers have to creep out into the right of way to be able to see around trucks parked there,” Bertram said. “It’s dangerous.”
Two no-parking signs are posted on the building at 508 Fredonia Ave. and yellow stripes on the pavement are intended to discourage parking.
The Village Board discussed the issue at its May 17 meeting, but it isn’t clear if the village or the county is responsible for the road because Fredonia Avenue is a county highway.
The board referred the issue to the Public Safety Committee.
