Former PHWS standout shines at MSOE

Sophomore Matthew Kirmse of Saukville, a member of the Milwaukee School of Engineering men’s basketball team, has been named to the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference first team.
Kirmse started all 26 games and as of April 26 led the league with 3.3 three-pointers per game.
He finished as the team’s top scorer with 16.1 points per game, scoring in double-digits 24 times and topping 20 points seven times.
Kirmse added 4.7 rebounds per game and posted one double-double.
His 86 three-pointers this season are eighth-most in school history and give him 133 for his career, already seventh in program history.
MSOE went 16-10 this season and finished third in the NACC with a 14-6 record.
Kirmse, a 2015 graduate of Port Washington High School, averaged 17 points and 5.3 rebounds per game in his senior season.
He shot 51% from the field and 47% from behind the arc. Kirmse led the North Shore Conference with 54 three-pointers and made the second team.
