Fixing the worst road in the Town of Port

Town of Port Washington officials have repeatedly called the well-traveled section of Northwoods Road between Highway 33 and Hillcrest Road the worst road in the township С but that title won’t apply any more. Crews from Payne & Dolan on Monday began an expected four-day project to repair the road. They pulverized the existing pavement, then were expected to spend a couple days grading and compacting the base before paving the road at an estimated cost of $98,355. Town Chairman Jim Melichar said recently he would see if Saukville would pay for a portion of the reconstruction since part of the road is in the village.                                                                                   Photo by Sam Arendt
