Fireworks, baseball tournament on tap at Heritage Park next weekend

Belgium’s annual fireworks display will again be held ahead of the Fourth of July this year.

The display is scheduled to start at 9:30 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Heritage Park.

The Fireworks Tournament hosted by the Cedar Grove-Belgium Athletic Association will be held in conjunction with the display, Games are scheduled to start at 5 p.m. Friday at Community and Heritage parks.

The 16-team tournament has two divisions, one for ages 10 and younger and another for children 12 and younger.

Games continue at 9 a.m. Saturday and at 11 a.m. Sunday with title contests slated for 3 p.m. Sunday.

Concessions will be available for purchase.

Teams participating include squads from Port Washington, Saukville and Cedar Grove-Belgium. The public is welcome to attend.

“It’s been getting bigger every year. This is about as big as we can go and still keep it at three days,” tournament organizer Pat Wester said.
