The Belgium Fire Department held its annual open house on Saturday, featuring rides in a fire truck courtesy of Kaity Olsen (top left), Sparky (top right) with (from left) Bradley, Cami and Brandon Marris of Belgium, Wasco the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office’s K-9 making his final public appearance with Sgt. BRadley Arndt before retiring this week (above left), and the chance to sit in the driver’s seat of a truck, like Lucy Specht of Belgium did (above right). Among the free items available were hot dogs, chips and beverages, free batteries, Frisbees, hats, can koozies, calendars, bags, magnets, stickers, pencils and fire safety information sheets. Smoke detectors were raffled off. The open house is held every October since it’s National Fire Prevention Month.  Photos by Mitch Maersch
