Farmers market vouchers are available for seniors

Vouchers that senior citizens can use at area farmers markets will be distributed Tuesday, June 25, at three county locations.

Vouchers will be distributed from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Port Washington and Grafton senior centers and at Range Line School in Mequon.

The $25 vouchers can be used to buy fresh fruits and vegetables from approved markets and stands.

Vouchers are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis to people 60 and older. To be eligible, they must have a monthly income of $1,926 or an annual income of $23,107 for a one-person household or $2,607 and $31,284, respectively, for a two-person household.

Only one voucher is allowed per household.

Proxy vouchers are available for home-bound seniors. For information on how to obtain these, call the Ozaukee County Aging and Disability Resource Center at 284-8120.
