Expansion, year-round events planned at Buechler Farms
Buechler Farms in Belgium is requesting a zoning ordinance amendment that would allow the construction of a 100-by-60-foot building and an attached 40-by-40 building so the business can hold year-round events.
Barn weddings and a rodeo are already held on the grounds, and co-owner Irene Buechler said business is growing.
The Plan Commission accepted the text amendment on Monday. It will discuss it at its March meeting and make a recommendation to the Village Board. A public hearing will be held before the board votes on it.
The Plan Commission last November renewed Buechler Farms’ conditional use permit and eliminated the limit of holding 40 events per year and the time of day events may be held.
Buechler said Kohler Co. has contacted her about holding events during this year’s Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits in the Town of Haven.
