Exhibit to open with reception on Jan. 28
The opening reception for “Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Sky: Climate Transformed,” the new exhibit at the Cedarburg Art Museum, will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28.
The exhibit, which runs through May 14, features artworks in a variety of media by 14 artists who have, in addition to Wisconsin, lived and worked in other parts of the world.
Their artwork includes the vision of indigenous artists and their relationship to the land and the environment.
As many as 50 works in various mediums will be exhibited, allowing for many thematic interpretations and experiences to surface.
The artwork explores the human relationship to the landscape and nature through agricultural uses, migration, habitat change, warming temperatures, wildfire, drought and heavy rains.
It is intended to get viewers to reflect on the beauty of the natural world and question our commitment to sustainability.
The museum is at W63 N675 Washington Ave.
