Evelyn M. Walber

Evelyn M. Walber of Harbor Campus, Port Washington, formerly of Belgium, was called home on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the age of 104.
She was born at home in Fredonia on Jan. 12, 1922.
She married Joseph Walber on June 12, 1943, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Dacada, Wis., and together they raised six children.
Evelyn and Joseph enjoyed dairy farming together for more than 50 years. She loved being on the farm, working the fields on her tractor and milking cows. In her retirement she enjoyed mowing the lawn, gardening, canning and crafting.
Evelyn was a longtime devoted member of Divine Savior Parish and the Christian Ladies.
Evelyn’s memory will be cherished by her children Arline (Dennis) Schueller, Patricia (the late Ronald) Buechler, Rosemary (the late Charles) Johnson, Arnold (Barbara) Walber, Sandra (Tom) Stenberg and Diane (Michael) Bryant, 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, two great-great-granddaughters and brother John (the late Mary) Schmitz. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Catherine (Schommer) Schmitz, her husband Joseph, nine brothers, three sisters, five brothers-in-law and eight sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Divine Savior Catholic Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 County Hwy. B, Belgium, Wis. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church from 2:30 to 5:15 p.m.
Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery, Random Lake (Dacada).
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Harbor Campus and Preceptor Hospice for their wonderful care of Evelyn.
