Eugene ‘Bubby’ Reimer

Eugene Hilbert Reimer, “Bubby,” 78, of Fredonia, passed away at Froedtert Hospital in West Bend on Sept. 10, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

  He was born on June 18, 1944, the son of the late Edwin and Gertrude (nee Yearling) Reimer.

He attended grade school in Little Kohler.

He worked at numerous places throughout his life, most recently and notably at Gilson Foundry in Fredonia for 18 years and Mid-City Foundry in Grafton for 15 years.

His hobbies included welding, woodworking and making and painting lawn ornaments. He also enjoyed working outside in his garage. He had a strong fondness for everything Chevrolet. He loved polka music and had a large collection of hats.

Eugene enjoyed spending his free time with his beloved family.

Those Eugene leaves behind to cherish his memory include his two sisters, Lucille (Warren) Gerner of Port Washington and Mary Neumann of Fredonia; his nieces and nephew; his great-nieces and great-nephews; his great-great-niece; other relatives; and friends.

In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins and dear friends.

Eugene’s family will greet relatives and friends at Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend, on Thursday, Sept. 15, from 3:30 to  6 p.m.

Funeral services for Eugene will be held at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15.

A graveside service will be held for Eugene on Friday, Sept. 16, at St. Martin’s Union Cemetery in Fillmore at 10 a.m.

  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Eugene’s niece, Lisa Hager, for all her care and compassion for him throughout the years.

Myrhum-Patten Funeral and Cremation Service has been entrusted with Eugene’s arrangements.
