Douglas Zajdel


Douglas Scott “Doug” Zajdel of Escanaba, Mich., formerly of Grafton, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at the young age of 67 years old of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at the Grafton Mueller Funeral Home & Crematory, 979 North Green Bay Rd., at 11:30 a.m.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 10 to 11:15 a.m.

Committal services will be held privately at St. Joseph Cemetery in Grafton following the funeral service.

Memorials to the Upper Michigan Trappers Association are appreciated.

Casual attire and/or jeans are welcomed.

Doug was born in Milwaukee on Tuesday, Jan. 22, 1952, to the late George and Marcella (nee Tutaj) Zajdel. He was one of four children.  

Doug’s first love was the outdoors, especially trapping and fishing. He also enjoyed using his conservation knowledge and skills to enhance his love of nature. He was a dedicated member of the Upper Michigan Trappers Association.

He was employed for over 30 years at the former EST Co. in Grafton.

Doug is survived by his siblings Thomas (Mary), Debra (Michael) Streets and Cory (Paul) Martin; nieces and nephews Dena (Joe) DiVincenzo, Kathryn Zajdel, Michelle (Aaron) Schmitz and Timothy (Lindsay) Streets; great-niece Mary DiVincenzo, other relatives; and friends.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents George and Marcella Zajdel.
