Dorothy Yurske

    Dorothy C. Yurske, 93, of Port Washington died Saturday, May 25, at Ellen’s Home assisted living facility.   
    Mrs. Yurske was born in Port Washington on Nov. 23, 1925, to Erwin and Clara Stieg Gall.  
    On Jan. 5, 1947, she married Gorman Yurske in Sparta.  The couple settled in Port to raise their family. Mr. Yurske preceded his wife in death in 1999.
     Mrs. Yurske was an active member of Friedens Evangelical Church in Port Washington, where she participated in the afternoon and evening guilds and the Mission Committee. She also volunteered at Heritage Nursing Home in Port Washington and with Interfaith Caregivers.
    Mrs. Yurske is survived by her children Cindy (Mitchell) D’Amico of Madison, Glenn (Beverly) of Cedarburg, Stanley of Fort Atkinson and David (Dawn) of Merrillan.
    She is further survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
    Mrs. Yurske was preceded in death by her husband Gorman, siblings Marjorie Spear, Betty Bendt and Fred, Gerald and Carl Gall and one great-granddaughter.
    A funeral service was to take place at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington. The Rev. Brandon Lemons was to preside.
    Visitation was to take place at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until the service.
    Interment was to be at Union Cemetery in Port Washington.
    Memorials to Friedens Evangelical Church in Mrs. Yurske’s name are suggested.
