Dorothy Krocka

Dorothy Krocka passed away at Lasata Care Center on Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at the age of 85.

Dorothy was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on May 12, 1935, to William and Della (Beinemann) Briske.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Joseph Krocka on June 6, 1953, at St. Michael’s Parish in Milwaukee.

She was the life of the party and never turned down an opportunity to host a gathering with those she loved. Dorothy loved to cook big meals for parties, which prompted Joe to put a second oven in the house for Dorothy.

She could be found crocheting, completing word and jigsaw puzzles and traveling up north to the cabin. Above all, Dorothy cared deeply for her family and will be dearly missed.

Dorothy is survived by her children Michael (Janice), Steven, David (Mary), Cheryl, James (Mona) and Victoria Krocka; grandchildren Sonny, Shelley, Jennifer, Kim, Tricia, Cody, Jerome, Kristi, Tiffany, Joey, Jeff, James, Amanda and Brandon; many great-grandchildren; and brother Father Larry Briske. Dorothy is further survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph; daughter Debra Knitter; grandson Ryan; great-grandson Sonny III; and two sisters, Dolores Hollis and Margaret Dickman.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 521 Congress Dr., Newburg, WI 53060, at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 23, 2021. Father Karl Acker will preside and Deacon Mike Koebel will co-officiate.

Family will receive visitors at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of Mass at 6 p.m.  Dorothy will be inurned with her husband Joseph at St. Francis Cemetery the following day.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lasata Care Center and The Dementia Research Center, www.dementiasociety.org/donate, are appreciated.

Dorothy’s family wishes to thank the exceptional staff at Lasata Care Center for the five years of care and friendship they provided.
