Dorothy I. Radtke

Dorothy I. Radtke of West Bend passed away on Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at the age of 99.

She was born in the Town of Farmington on April 19, 1925, the daughter of Herman and Laselle (Paulin) Radtke.

Dorothy attended Hillside School and had the same teacher, Isabell O’Hara, all eight years.

She worked at several West Bend supermarkets and retired from the Samaritan in 1986.

Dorothy loved music and played the guitar and piano. She sang in the church choir for more than 60 years. She had a great green thumb and helped take care of the family garden.

Dorothy was a true-blue Chicago Cubs fan and listened to them and Harry Carey sing “Take me Out to The Ball Game” on the radio. She was always ready to help the family with babysitting, caring for her parents when they were older, household chores or wherever help was needed.

Dorothy was a member of Divine Savior Catholic Parish, Holy Cross Chapel. She missed the little parish she belonged to at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Little Kohler when it was closed.

Dorothy is survived by her sister Betty Yahr of West Bend, nieces and nephews Maggie (Tim Hofmair) Jane Koepke, Tom and Kathy Mueller, Sue (Ken) Moehn, Jeff Yahr, Mark Yahr and Ann (Jason) Broecker, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marian (Leroy) Mueller and brothers-in-law Kenneth Yahr and Richard Koepke.

Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, from 11 until 11:45 a.m., with the funeral service at noon at St. Mary’s Foundation Church in Little Kohler, W4790 County Rd. H, Fredonia, Wis.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In Dorothy’s memory, please consider a memorial to hospice care or the St. Mary’s Foundation.

A special thank you to Rebecca and Tammy of Horizon Home Care for their care and support.

Phillip Funeral Home is serving the family.
