Donald Plier

Donald H. Plier, 84, loving husband of the late Adrianne L. Rismeyer, of Port Washington, Wis., was called home on Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 while surrounded by his family at the homestead farm.
Donny was born on June 2, 1937, in Belgium, Wis., the son of Sylvester and Marcella Plier.
On Sept. 29, 1962, Donny married Adrianne Rismeyer and they settled on the Plier homestead farm to raise their family. Donny and Adrianne were happily married for 43 years when Adrianne passed away in 2005.
Donny was a cheesemaker for many years before becoming employed at Construction Forms in Port Washington, Wis.
Following his retirement, he enjoyed his time at their camper near Crivitz, Wis., Disney World in Florida and a quick run to the casino for an afternoon of fun.
Donny was a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Church in Port Washington, Wis.
Donny is survived by his three boys, Richard (Debbie) Plier, Daniel (Tracy) Plier and Patrick Plier; four grandchildren, Carrie Plier, Joshua Plier, Spencer (Kelsey) Plier and Shawna (Max) Laumann; two great-grandchildren, Braelee and Chase Plier and another due to arrive in January 2022; two brothers Franklin “Joe” (Kathy) Plier and Sylvester “Butch” (Lynn) Plier; one sister Nancy (Norbert) Ansay; and one sister-in-law Effie Plier.
Don is also survived by sister-in-law Charlotte Rismeyer and special friend and sister-in-law Marian Rismeyer.
Donny was preceded in death by his loving wife Adrianne; his parents Sylvester Plier and Adolph and Marcella (Plier) Witte; his parents-in-law Theodore and Lorraine Rismeyer; brother Merlin Plier; nephews Jeff Plier; and brothers and sisters-in-law Lloyd Rismeyer, Harold “Buddy” Rismeyer, Donald (June) Rismeyer, Janis (Edward) Beke, Raymond (Jean) Rismeyer, Wally Rismeyer, Betty (Louis) Bodi, Beverly (Joe) Yovanovich, Shirley Voeller and Clifford Rismeyer.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Peter of Alcantara Church, 1800 N. Wisconsin St. in Port Washington, Wis.
The Rev. Patrick Wendt was the celebrant.
Visitation was at the church from 2:30 to 5 p.m. prior to Mass.
Burial was at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Port Washington, Wis.

A memorial fund is being established in his memory for the Port Washington Lions Club and the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
