Documentary on dementia to be shown

The documentary film “Wine, Women and Dementia” will be screened during a 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, event at the Ozaukee County pavilion at the fairgrounds in Cedarburg.

The event will include community resources for families dealing with someone who has dementia, refreshments and raffle prizes.

There will be on-site respite care available.

The film exposes the isolation, financial stress, physical and emotional toll family caregivers shoulder for their loved ones with dementia and themselves.

It follows a family caregiver seeking healing and comfort in community on a road trip across the country, swapping stories of love, humor, devotion and death with other caregivers.

Online registration is requested by visiting http://bit/ly/4aL8dlL or calling Sarah Prohuska, a dementia care specialist with the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Ozaukee County at (262) 284-8120.
