DES Interest Day

Students at Dunwiddie Elementary School in Port Washington had the opportunity last month to learn about a wide variety of hobbies and professions from adults who taught the children about the things they enjoy doing during High Interest Day. Judy Steffen (above), who used to teach at the school, showed students how to make jewelry. Andy Garbisch, whose wife Marie teaches at Dunwiddie, brought his race car to school and let children sit in it (top left). Elizabeth Prince, a library paraprofessional at the school, had her dog Patrick with her to teach students about taking care of pets (left). Photos by Sam Arendt
