Deep freeze plays havoc with high school sports schedules
With school cancellations due to historic cold this week, area athletic events have been postponed or canceled.
Schools are set will resume on Friday with activities held as scheduled.
Rescheduled events are as follow.
For Port Washington High School:
• Tuesday’s boys’ basketball game at Nicolet was moved to Wednesday, Feb. 13;
• Tuesday’s girls’ basketball game at Nicolet was moved to Wednesday, Feb. 6;
• Wednesday’s gymnastics meet was moved to Wednesday, Feb. 13;
• Thursday’s North Shore Conference Diving Meet in West Bend was moved to 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. Swimming remains unchanged at 2 p.m.
For Grafton:
• Tuesday’s boys’ basketball game at Homestead was postponed with a date to be finalized;
• Tuesday’s girls’ basketball game versus Homestead was moved to Thursday, Feb. 7;
• Wednesday’s gymnastics meet at West Bend West has been postponed with a date to be finalized;
• Thursday’s North Shore Conference Diving Meet in West Bend was moved to 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2. Swimming remains unchanged at 2 p.m.
For Cedar Grove-Belgium:
• Tuesday’s boys’ basketball game at Two Rivers has been moved to Monday, Feb. 18;
• Tuesday’s girls’ basketball game against Hilbert has been moved to Thursday, Feb. 14;
• Thursday’s boys’ basketball game against Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah was moved to Thursday, Feb. 7.
For Ozaukee:
• Tuesday’s boys’ basketball game at Cristo Ray Jesuit has been postponed with a date to be finalized;
• Tuesday’s girls’ basketball game against Sheboygan Christian has been moved to Monday, Feb. 11.
