David J. Tolle

David Joseph Tolle, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 24, 2020.  

David, the son of James Tolle and Colleen Schmidt, was born on Oct. 24, 1964 in Prairie du Chien, Wis.  

He graduated from West Grant High School in 1983.  

David is survived by his parents; stepfather Mike Schmidt; daughter Joelle; and siblings Dennis (Kris), Tim (Chris) and Denise.  

David is further survived by his girlfriend Jonna, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

David would talk big and dream big. His motto in life was “Go big or go home.”  But, in reality, it was the simple things that gave David joy.  County fairs, local festivals and brat frys or being in the garden with his dad were always places you could find David.  

His daughter was a gift from heaven and he cherished every moment he spent with her.  

His most recent job was at Charter Steel, of which he was very proud, but agriculture and dairy cows were in his blood.  

David met his girlfriend Jonna in 2007 and they were together, at last, for his last few years.

Due to CDC restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
