Daniel Leffingwell “Dan” Netzow

Daniel Leffingwell “Dan” Netzow passed away on April 29, 2026, at Willowbrook Place in Thiensville, Wis. Dan was 77 years old.

Born on Aug. 27, 1948, in Watertown, Wis., he was the son of Dr. Earl J. and Lucile (nee Leffingwell) Netzow. He grew up in Lake Mills, Wis., and graduated from Lake Mills High School in 1966. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, graduating with a major in geology.

After college, Dan spent some time in Lake Mills getting involved in construction work. He then moved to Aspen, Colo., where he began his career in finish carpentry, living in Colorado most of his adult life.

Dan loved to sail (established by his summer visits to Sucker Brook, where he and cousin Jerry sailed the Lake Michigan blue), ski on the slopes of the Colorado Rockies and fish. (A favorite spot was Peavy Pond near the Netzow Cottages on Lake Ellen in Channing, Mich.)

Dan was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Earl J. and Lucile Netzow and a brother, Earl Jeffrey Netzow.

Dan is survived by his wife Ann (nee Long) Netzow of Middleton, Wis., a brother, Thomas (Barbara) of Thiensville and Townsend, Wis., and nieces Emily Netzow and Abigail Netzow.
