Cory Zamora

Cory Zamora passed away Saturday at Children’s Hospital, where he had been receiving treatment for leukemia for the last year.
Cory was born in Australia to parents Chuck and Trish Zamora (nee Miser). The family moved back to the States in 2004 to be near Trish’s parents Bud and Bernie Miser.
Cory and his sister Bethany attended Homestead High School, where Cory lettered in wrestling.
Since graduating, Cory worked part time at Goodwill in Grafton, Ace Hardware in Mequon and the Port Washington Police Department. He loved his jobs and being part of the community, including Best Buddies, Special Olympics and going to concerts. He loved helping people and was a joy to all who knew him.
Cory is survived by his parents and sister of Mequon, his grandmother Bernie Miser and aunt Sandi of Destin, Fla., uncles Mike (Sandy) of Hudson, Dave (Laurie) of Janesville and Richard of San Diego and aunt Rozanne, also of San Diego, as well as many, many cousins and friends.
Endless gratitude is given to the staff of Children’s Hospital for the year of selfless and loving care.
Visitation is Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Fox Point Lutheran Church, 7510 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Fox Point, with the service at 11 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Oncology Hot Unit or the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
