Cornhole tourney, Buergbrennen to be held
One event to support those fighting fires and another centered around a gigantic blaze will be held in Belgium in the coming weeks.
The Belgium Fire Department will host its Fire in the Hole cornhole tournament on Saturday, Feb. 21.
The cost is $20 per person with 100% payout. People are asked to bring their own partner. Six games are guaranteed, starting at 2 p.m. People may register at https://tinyurl.com/2u7v45fh. Proceeds go toward fire gear and scholarships.
The third annual Buergbrennen will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Buechler Farms. The Luxembourg tradition calls for a bonfire to burn away the spirits of winter and welcome spring. The most recent married couple are called to light the fire. Volunteers are sought. For information, visit https://belgiumareachamber.org.
