Construction of Gateway Sports Academy set to begin

Dirt flew on Saukville’s east side last week as ground was broken for the Gateway Sports Academy in the Northern Gateway Community Collective development. Doing the honors were (from left) Ryan Raskin, senior project manager for Catalyst Construction; Tom Stanton, executive director of Mel’s Charities; Mike Ansay, president of Ansay Development; Village President Andy Hebein; Brian Hebein, who along with Tyler Mueller (far right) is a partner in Chapman Sports Academy; Joe Chapman, also a partner and founder of the academy; Chapman’s children Joseph, Carter, Trevor and Steph and his wife Carolyn. The academy — a second facility for the Chapman Sports Academy in Mequon — will be a key feature of the Gateway project being developed by Ansay in cooperation with Grafton-based Mel’s Charities. Photo by Sam Arendt
