Compactor needs repairs

The Town of Belgium’s compactor recently blew two hydraulic lines.
Gibbsville Implement did the repairs on both. One cost $333 and the other cost $500.
Supr. Tom Bichler said the breakdowns caused people to combine their household garbage with recycling.
Advanced Disposal was fine with that, he said.
In other news, Wednesday hours at the dump are from 5 to 7 p.m. and will continue through September.
The dump is open every Saturday year-round from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
