Committee begins work on village plan
The first meeting of a citizens committee to help revise the Village of Fredonia’s comprehensive plan met Monday, March 8, at the Fredonia Government Center.
Members of the committee so far include Todd Miller, John Donald, Jennifer Schmidt, Charlene Landing and Tim Landing.
The committee will work with the village Plan Commission on revising the plan, which was last updated in 2009.
The comprehensive plan addresses issues such as housing, transportation, utilities, community facilities, agriculture and natural resources and economic development.
The process is expected to take 18 to 24 months and will involve the Plan Commission working on it at each of its monthly meetings, officials said.
The state Department of Administration recommends that the public be invited to participate in the process, so each meeting is open to the public and comments will be taken.
As chapters to the plan are completed, they will be posted on the village website for review and comment. The chapters will also be available for review at Village Hall.
