Cliff Thelen

PAID OBITUARY

 

Cliff Thelen, age 84, of Brandenburg, Ky., formerly of Saukville, passed away July 4, 2018, at Hosparus Health in Louisville, Ky., from complications of bladder cancer.
Cliff was born in Port Washington on Jan. 7, 1934. He was the son of Bernard and Amanda (Esselman) Thelen.
In 1979, Cliff moved to Kentucky, where he continued to work sheet metal. He retired his career as a sheet metal worker with the Union Local 110.
In July 1953, Cliff joined the Army, serving in Korea until May 1955.
Cliff was married to Martha Ann (Greenlee) of Kentucky up until the time of her death on March 10, 2016.
Cliff is survived by his four daughters from his first wife, Lori (Jeff) Duwell of Grafton, Holly (Scott) Lauters of Saukville, Kerry (Ron) Binsfeld of Oostburg and Jacki (Lee) Umnus of Manitowoc; sisters Audrey (Andy) Dieringer and Lois Anzia, both of Port Washington, Marily Averill, Erla (Ron) Schneider and Rita (Clete) Schneider, all of West Bend, Kathy (Don) Harmeling of Waterford and Maryann (Dave) Schowalter of Appleton; and brothers Jerry (Kay), Charles "Bud" (Joan) and Dick (Barb), all of West Bend, and Pat (Mary) of Saukville.
He is further survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary and Joe Maupin of New Haven, Ky.
Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, wife Martha Ann, stepdaughter Candace Holly, brothers Bill and Dan, sister Ruth Ann Tedesco, brothers-in-law Marvin Anzia and Leroy Averill and sister-in-law Nancy Thelen.
Cliff was laid to rest with military honors at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Ky., on July 13, 2018, with Deacon Mike Jones officiating.
Hagers Funeral Home of Brandenburg, Ky., took care of the funeral arrangements.
A gathering of remembrance in Ozaukee County will be scheduled at a later date.
