Classes, activities set at Port Senior Center

 

A variety of classes and activities are scheduled for February at the Port Washington Senior Center, 403 W. Foster St.

Ping Pong will be played from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Fridays, Feb. 4 through 25.

 Players, who are required to register each month, are responsible for putting the table up and taking it down each week.  

There is no fee for center members. The nonmember fee is $8.

“Watercolor Quick and Easy” will be held from 1:45 to 3:45 p.m. Tuesdays from Feb. 8 to 22

Students may choose a couple everyday objects to bring to class or simple photos of scenes.

The cost is $40 for center members and $50 for nonmembers. There is a $5 fee for materials for new people to use.

Advanced registration is preferred by calling 284-5821.

Zumba Gold Classes will be held at 11 a.m. from Feb. 1 to March 3.

The low impact, Latin-dance inspired  aerobics class is designed for beginners and participants with physical limitations.  The 30 to 45-minute class will be led by Tina Mach.  

The cost is $15 for center members and Friends of the Senior Center members and $25 per course or $5 per class for nonmembers. There is no fee for Optum, Silver Fit and Silver Sneaker Flex members.  

Advance registration is required.         A Valentine’s Day celebration will be held from 12:45 to 2 p.m. Feb. 14 featuring the music of keyboardist Lou Cucanato.

The performance will include sing-along songs, and Senior Singer members will facilitate these tunes.

Space is limited, so advance registration is required for the free event. To register, call the center at 284-5821.

Those who wish to attend the Senior Dining Café before, contact Jill at (414) 483-9753 by noon Thursday, Feb. 10.  

“Before We Were Yours” by Lisa Wingate will be discussed by the Delta Kappa Gamma book club at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Those attending are asked to register by calling the center by Feb. 17.  

At the March 22 meeting of the book club, “The Girl from the Channel Islands” by Jenny Lecoat will be discussed.
