City reschedules canceled fireworks for Oct. 8 Street Fest
Port Washington’s fireworks show, which was postponed due to the threat of severe weather on the Fourth of July, will be held during the city’s Fall Street Festival on Saturday, Oct. 8.
Officials announced that decision Friday, saying that when looking for alternative dates they considered other activities in the community.
Shooting off the fireworks on Oct. 8 seemed to fit, they said, noting it will cap a full day of activities.
That’s because not only is that the date for the Fall Street Festival hosted by Port Main Street Inc., which offers a variety of family friendly events on Franklin Street and Grand Avenue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., it is also the final beer garden of the season.
The beer garden runs from 1 to 8 p.m.
The day opens with a farmers market.
The fireworks will be shot off from Coal Dock Park at 7 p.m.
