Chickens turn up in Village of Belgium
It seems that someone didn’t get the message that the Village of Belgium does not allow chickens.
The Village Board and Public Safety Committee discussed allowing the feathered creatures last year but decided against it.
Nonetheless, Village Marshal Leon Anzia said in this month’s report to the Village Board that he found someone with the birds.
“I found another person with chickens. I informed them there was an ordinance against it, and they got rid of their chickens,” Anzia said.
