Chamber to show off new digs on April 28

The Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce will host an open house at its new office from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 28.

People are invited to tour the space, learn about the Chamber, meet fellow business leaders and community members and enter drawings to win prizes.

The office is at 1038 12th Ave. in a former industrial building that was once home to John Weber Brewing Co., which operated from the mid-1880s well into the 1890s, Elizabeth Mueller, the Chamber’s executive director, said.

In fact, she noted, the adjoining property has lager caves once used by the brewery.

The building, known as Grafton Creative, is was renovated by Dieter Wegner, who has rehabbed four or five industrial buildings in Walker’s Point, Mueller said.
