CG-Belgium volleyball goes 4-1 in home tourney

Cedar Grove-Belgium High School’s volleyball team went 4-1 at its Rocket Invite last Saturday.

The Rockets beat St. Francis, Valders, Kiel and Kohler, and lost to Kewaskum.

Last Thursday, the Rockets beat Mishicot, 25-17, 17-25, 25-27, 26-24, 15-4.

Maria Dries had 13 kills and Olivia Robertson had 10. Bailey and Shelby Cooney each had 20 digs. Kristin Oszuscik had 17 assists, and Caitlin Soerens had 15.

On Sept. 25, the Rockets lost to Random Lake, 26-24, 25-22, 13-25, 17-25, 7-15.

Robertson had 12 kills. Shelby Cooney had 50 digs, and Bailey Cooney had 27. Oszuscik had 15 assists, and Soerens had 14.

The Rockets were to play at Oostburg on Thursday and at a Brookfield East tournament on Saturday.

Ozaukee on Sept. 25 beat Sheboygan Christian, 25-14, 25-10, 22-25, 25-23.

Sydnie Stadler had 11 kills and eight aces. Abby Miller had nine kills, and Abby Paulus had seven. Emily Janowski had 14 digs. Cayleigh Ebersold had 21 assists, and Izzy Clark had 16.

On Sept. 27, Ozaukee lost to Hilbert, 25-15, 25-14, 25-16. Stadler had 10 digs and Janowski had eight. Clark had eight assists.

The Warriors were to play at Manitowoc Lutheran on Thursday and host Howards Grove on Oct. 9.

On Sept. 25, Port Washington was swept at Slinger, 25-17, 25-17, 25-8; and Grafton lost at Cedarburg, 25-18, 25-16, 25-17.

The Pirates were to host West Bend West at 6:30 p.m. Thursday and play at a Brillion invite on Saturday.

Grafton was to play at Slinger on Thursday and at a Nicolet tournament on Saturday.
