Celeste Miller

Mrs. Celeste Miller of Port Washington passed away peacefully early Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 84 years old.
Celeste was born in Milwaukee on March 18, 1940, the daughter of Frederick and Fidelia (nee Ubert) Emmerich.
She attended local schools and graduated from Messmer High School, Class of 1958.
On June 16, 1962, Celeste was united in marriage with James Miller in Milwaukee. The couple moved to Port Washington in 1966 and raised their family of three children. In 1986 they moved to Ingalls, Mich., to live in God’s country.
Jim preceded Celeste in death in 1999, and she moved back to Port Washington in 2003.
Mrs. Miller had been employed as a secretary at Columbia-St. Mary’s Hospital as well as a dispatcher for the Port Washington Police Department for many years. She had also been a licensed massage therapist.
Celeste was a member of St. Peter of Alcantara Church (currently St. John XXIII Parish), the American Massage Therapist Association and the Port Washington Senior Center. She had been a volunteer for the Port Washington Main Street program and a co-chair of Port Washington Fish Day for a number of years.
When she wasn’t busy around town, Celeste enjoyed painting, knitting, crocheting, needlework, flower arranging, bird watching and feeding the local wildlife. An avid collector of frog figurines and angels, she had a deep love of the Christmas season and had an extensive Christmas ornament collection.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Jessica Miller of Saukville, son Michael (Cindy) Miller of the Town of Polk, son-in-law James “Jim” (the late Maria) Poull and former daughter-in-law September “Seppi” (Rob) Anderson.
