Carol Gutekunst

Carol Gutekunst, age 92, passed away peacefully on Jan. 27, 2026.

Born in Wabeno, Wis., Carol lived a long, loving life centered around her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Arthur Gutekunst and her son Michael Gutekunst.

Carol is survived by her children Mark (Lynn) Alan, Michelle Mayer and Maria (Roy) Carrera.

She was a devoted grandmother to Jeff (Jessie) Mayer, Lilia, Senna and Eva Carrera and great-grandmother to Jerralynn and Joel Mayer, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Carol will be remembered for her warmth, gentle spirit and the quiet strength that defined her life. She created a home filled with love and comfort, and her legacy will continue through the generations she leaves behind.

A memorial service for Carol will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Freistadt, 10729 W. Freistadt Rd., Mequon, WI 53097. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the service at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to Interfaith Caregivers of Ozaukee County or Trinity Lutheran Church of Freistadt.
