Carol G. Schommer

Carol G. Schommer passed away on Saturday, May 24, 2025, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. She was 74 years old.
Carol was born on October 11, 1950, in Port Washington to the late Frederick and Lorraine (Miller) Kaltenbrun.
She graduated from Port Washington High School with the Class of 1969.
On Oct. 31, 1970, she was united in marriage to Steven Schommer. They spent over 54 loving years together.
She found great joy in gardening, cooking and spending time with her family. Carol delighted in taking trips to the Island Resort and Casino and leisurely rides on the riverboat Twilight along the Mississippi. She enjoyed taking walks with her husband, enjoying each other’s company and the beauty of nature.
Carol is survived by her husband Steven; her children Stefanie (Kevin) Schueller and Jon (Carla) Schommer; grandchildren Jaiden, Jessica and Julia Schueller and Abraham, Ivy and Oakley Schommer; brother Kurt (Jackie) Kaltenbrun; sister Mary Plagemann; brothers-in-law Paul (Terry), Pat and Gerald (Joyce) Schommer; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Glen (Jackie) Kaltenbrun, brother-in-law Danny Plagemann and sister-in-law Katheryn Ann (Tom) Dorcas.
The family would like to thank Dr. Puffer and his staff at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital Milwaukee and Ozaukee campuses, the Rev. Wayne King, Belgium EMTs, Northern Ozaukee paramedics, Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Office and her two angels.
A private family service will be held.
