Carol Ann Wach
PAID OBITUARY
Carol Ann Wach, age 70, of Eden Prairie, died on July 2, 2018, in her home.
She was born June 17, 1948, the daughter of Aloysius and Armina (Bonlender) Wach. Carol grew up in Waubeka.
After graduating from Port Washington High School, she started her career at West Bend Mutual Insurance Co. in Wisconsin. During her 49 years of service she received multiple promotions and accepted a move to Minnesota in the 1980s.
Outside of work, Carol’s passions included golfing and bowling which she enjoyed with the many special friends in her life. Golf getaway weekends with girlfriends were a highlight in summer and state bowling tournaments a highlight in the winter months.
Carol was an enthusiastic traveler. There are too many trips to name, but a few of her favorite destinations were Germany, Hawaii, Montana, New Orleans, Arizona, Georgia, Disney World, New York, Jamaica, Mexico, France, and Caribbean cruises.
Carol was a devoted mother to her only daughter Kelly. Kelly was the greatest joy of Carol’s life. Carol and Kelly shared a bond that is hard to put into words. Their love and support for one another made them the perfect duo. You could find them together in New York City on one of their mother/daughter trips, decorating for Christmas, riding rides at Valley Fair, planting flowers, attending plays, sitting on the deck sipping lemonade or going for a leisurely walk around Kelly’s neighborhood.
In the last few years, Carol spent many long weekends at her “mother-in-law suite” in Kelly and her husband Chris’ home. This set-up was especially convenient when her twin granddaughters were born in the fall of 2017. Grammie Carol never shied away from a diaper change and was known to get right on the floor for playtime. Spending time together as a family was of top priority in Carol’s life.
Carol was Kelly’s biggest cheerleader and motivator, and if you knew Carol you also knew how proud of Kelly she was. Carol worked hard to always provide for Kelly and to teach her many life lessons along the way. These two share many of the same heartwarming traits. Compassion for others, patience, hardworking, and where they can save a penny!
Carol had a zest for life and shared that with everyone she loved. She was always positive and could light up a room upon entering. She loved people. She loved being with her friends and family. And whenever anyone was around her they always seemed to be laughing!
A quote that she had saved in her home read “Enjoy life today; yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come.” And this is what Carol did every single day!
Carol was preceded in death by her parents Aloysius and Armina Wach and her three brothers Roger, James, and Jerry Wach.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Chris) Gully of Sauk Rapids, Minn., her twin grandbabies Kelsey Ann and Lucy Jean Gully, her sister-in-law Darlene Wach of Germantown, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
