Carl N. Jagow

Carl N. Jagow of Port Washington lost his eight-month battle with bladder cancer, passing from this life into eternal life on the morning of Friday, May 31, 2024. He was 68 years old.

Carl was born in Port Washington, Wis., on April 11, 1956, the second child of Norman B. and Audrey A. (nee Runkel) Jagow.

Carl grew up with his family in Fredonia. He graduated from Ozaukee High School in 1974. After that, he attended Milwaukee Area Technical College to study horticulture.

Carl worked many jobs over his life, mostly in construction installing windows in commercial buildings. This job took him all over Wisconsin, explaining why, he always said, there wasn’t a town in Wisconsin where he hadn’t been. In later years he worked at Rexnord Plastics in Grafton and finally as a maintenance man at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Sheboygan.

Carl was a man of many talents and hobbies. He could fix almost anything and preferred using his talents to help others.

Carl was an avid sportsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and archery. He loved to share his knowledge of these interests with anyone who would ask, especially with his nephews, nieces and extended family. Overarching all of his hobbies was his love for his family and faith in God.

Carl is survived by his siblings Elizabeth (John) Karrels, Steven (Kathryn) Jagow, Thomas (Carol) Jagow, Kathleen (John) Berg and Eric (Karalyn) Jagow. He is further survived by 15 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and nephews, who affectionately called him “Uncle Buck.”

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church, 824 Fredonia Ave., Fredonia, Wis. Pastor John Berg, Carl’s brother-in-law, will officiate.

The family will receive visitors at the church from 9 a.m until the service.

Carl will be laid to rest immediately following the service at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Fredonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. John Lutheran Church in Fredonia, First Immanuel Lutheran in Cedarburg or Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Sheboygan.

The family is forever grateful to the kind and compassionate staff at Lawlis Hospice, Mequon, and Aurora Medical Center, Grafton, for taking such excellent care of Carl.
