Cancelled Port fireworks to be rescheduled

To the chagrin of many, Port Washington’s Fourth of July fireworks show was postponed due to the threat of storms and lightning.

“It wasn’t an easy decision but the right decision,” Ald. Dan Benning said at the Common Council meeting Tuesday.

Officials said they had not determined when the fireworks will be shot off, adding a decision should be made by the end of this week.
