Buergbrennen is back

Everyone’s favorite local event that entails turning a pile wooden pallets and brush into a brilliant bonfire is returning.

Buergbrennen, the Luxembourg tradition of burning away winter, will be held at Buechler Farms from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 1. The tradition calls for the fire to be lit by the most recently married couple in the town while everyone sips wine as they take in the fire scene.

The rain date is Saturday, March 8.
