Brooks to chair panel on housing, real estate

Rep. Rob Brooks, R-Saukville, has been appointed chairman of the Assembly Committee on Housing and Real Estate for the 2023-2024 legislative session.

The committee will focus on making housing more affordable and accessible, streamlining burdensome regulations that impede development and prioritize upgrading the state’s existing housing stock.

Brooks, who has been a real estate agent for more than 30 years, has also been appointed to the Health, Aging, and Long-Term Care Committee, Sporting Heritage Committee, State Affairs Committee, Corrections Committee and the Ways and Means, of which he will serve as vice chairman.

Brooks will be sworn-in to a fifth term on Jan. 3.
