Bonnie Blair is speaker for Senior Conference

Olympic gold-medal winner Bonnie Blair will be the keynote speaker for the 16th annual Ozaukee County Senior Conference.

The conference will be held Tuesday, June 12, at the Country Inn & Suites in Port Washington.

The theme of this year’s event is “Be Your Best,” and Blair is an example of that motto personified.

One of the most decorated woman in winter Olympic history, she is a six-time medalist and a world record-holding speed skater.

She competed in four Olympics — in Sarajevo, Calgary, Albertville and Lillehammer — from 1984 to 1994, and retired from skating in 1995.

She then became a motivational speaker.

Blair has been inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame, the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame and the United States Olympic Hall of Fame.

Registration information for the Senior Conference is available at the Ozaukee County Aging and Disabilities Resource Center, local libraries and senior centers.
