Bolstering Port’s emergency services

Port Washington’s ambulance service got a boost on March 7 when three full-time firefighter/paramedics, along with Deputy Firre Chief Joe DeBoer, were sworn into office by City Clerk Susan Westerbeke. Taking the oath of office were (from left) DeBoer, Cameron Karsteadt, Samuel Lorge and Dylan Dodson. Their hiring was a boost to the Fire Department, which has struggled to fully staff the ambulance around the clock. “It igves us piece of mind knowing we’re going to have paramedics around 24/7,” Mayor Ted Neitzke said.                         Photo by Sam Arendt
